Chinese Officers Nab Crew of 5 Who Bought Teen’s Kidney For an iPad

Kidney iPad Scar

News that a Chinese teen had sold his kidney so he could buy an iPad 2 and an iPhone spread like wildfire back in 2011. The seventeen-year-old, identified with the surname "Wang", was so desperate to get his hands on the latest Apple gadgets that he agreed to give up one of his kidneys for a measly sum of 22,000 yuan ($3,500).

Ybuy to Offer the New iPad for Rent Starting April 1st

Not everybody has the cash to burn on the latest gadgets and devices. Obviously basic needs like food, water, rent, (and maybe cable? Nah, just kidding!) take precedence over getting the latest smartphone or tablet that gets released. Like, say, the new iPad.

That's especially heartbreaking for gadget lovers who'd give anything to take Apple's latest gizmo out for a spin. Sure, the new iPad has an overheating issue (which Apple vehemently denies), but it's also got an impressive 5-megapixel iSight camera, runs on an ultra-fast A5X chip, and boasts of a 3.1 million-pixel Retina display.

But here's some good news for the cash-strapped folks out there: you can still get your hands on the new iPad--even if you don't have $499 to spare.

Apple’s New iPad is (Literally) Too Hot to Handle

We all know Apple's iPad is one of the hottest tablets in the market. But it seems like the new iPad (also known as the iPad 3, for clarity's sake) is literally several degrees hotter than its predecessor. Hot, as in, hot to the touch.

This issue was brought up to everyone's attention when Consumer Reports published a review which reported that the new iPad reached temperatures of 116 degrees Fahrenheit (that's 47 degrees in Celsius) after forty-five minutes of continuous gameplay. This is around 13 degrees F higher than what was recorded on the iPad 2 in similar conditions.
