Trio of Viral Websites Let You Step Into the World of ‘Dredd’ (VIDEO)

Say No to Slo Mo
Say No to Slo Mo!

The future doesn't look too bright, especially for Mega City One. It's overrun by addicts and criminals running wild in the streets--but that's what the 'Judges' are there for. They serve as the judge, jury, and executioner of those who break the city's laws, with Judge Dredd being the toughest and most well-known of them all.

Karl Urban steps into the shoes of the iconic Judge in Dredd 3D, and he shows no mercy, especially to the Slo Mo huffing youngsters of Mega City. Given all this chaos, I doubt you'd ever want America to go down this dirty, dirty road.

But you can get a taste of what that kind of future would feel like with this newly-released trio of viral websites from Dredd HQ. First up is Say No to Slo Mo, which redirects to the public service announcement you can check out in the player above. It's basically telling everyone in Mega City One to stay away from Slo Mo.

Then there's The Dredd Report, which is fashioned after The Drudge Report, and The Peach Tree News. The Dredd Report actually takes current news pieces and dresses them up with a brand-spankin' new Dredd-related headline. For example, 'Psi-Judge Fyy Caught Smoking Cigarette in Mega-City One' actually links to an article reporting how Miley Cyrus got caught smoking a cigarette in Philly. Meanwhile, The Peach Tree features news on the 200-story building that gets overrun by the movie's villainess, Ma-Ma Madrigal (as portrayed by Lena Headey.)

Dredd 3D explodes on the big screen on September 21st.

The new Dredd reboot doesn't hit theaters for two more months, but Aurum Productions were eager to tease audiences with a bunch of news stills from the movie.

Judge Dredd made the big jump from the pages of comic books to the big screen in 1995 with Sylvester Stallone taking on the role of the toughest Judge in Mega City. Apparently some folks in Hollywood thought a reboot was in order, and now we've got Karl Urban stepping into the shoes of the only judge, jury, and executioner who can make even the toughest of men piss in their pants at the sight of him. Meet the Judges from America's future, who serve as judge, jury, and instant executioner of those who break the law. The toughest and most well-known of them is Judge Dredd, who was last seen on-screen played by Sylvester Stallone in 1995's much maligned Judge Dredd.

But he's back now in 'Dredd', the latest incarnation of the character that has him out to rid the city of its latest epidemic: a drug known as Slo-Mo that lets users experience reality at a fraction of its normal speed. He shows no mercy in the clip as everyone gets it in true Dredd fashion--and in slow motion.

‘Dredd’ Trailer Released! (VIDEO)

Judge Dredd
Sly who?

The first feature length trailer for the Judge Dredd reboot, Dredd has been released and put online and you can check it out above!

Karl Urban is looking pretty staunch in the titular role and throws down some quality quips in the two minute clip.

Dredd will see Urban's Judge Dredd and amateur Judge Anderson, Olivia Thirlby, hunt down a terrorist group being lead by Lena Headey's Ma-Ma, who are releasing a drug that alters reality called Slo-Mo.

This all takes place on a mutated earth destroyed by an Atomic War, where survivors live in mega cities and are patrolled by policemen named Judges who have the power to fight crime with tremendous brutality.

Urban does look good as the character that Stallone made infamous but it remains to be seen how good the movie actually will be. Each of the cast have made their fare share of stinkers and this is Englishman's Peter Travis first feature film as a director. Never a good sign for a blockbuster.
