It’s Already Halloween Down ‘Overwatch’ Way

  Earlier this week, I was heaping praise on Grand Theft Auto Online’s little seasonal additions. I was praising them up like the praise-heapin’ son of a mad mothereffer I am. It’s the small details that make the difference, and getting the chance to have vicious Christmas snowball fights on the streets of Los Santos was one of them.  

Rockstar have been good with that through GTA Online’s lifespan. Bonnie and Clyde-themed vehicles and other extras for Valentine’s are something we can all get behind, and that sort of deal fits in well with the game’s little-and-often hunks of DLC. They were free, too, which is never something to bitch about.

But we know all that. We also know that Street Fighter V is getting a Halloween update, full of premium-priced costumes and a creepy new take on the title’s Russia stage. Now here’s the Overwatch guys, throwing in their own Halloween-tastic two cents.

The mega popular hero shooter already dropped something a bit special for the Rio Olympics, and an Xbox Store leak seems to have confirmed another event. As Game Spot reports, there’s been no word from Blizzard themselves about a Halloween event, but Redditor ChronosHero nabbed this image from the store:

 

According to this, during the Overwatch: Halloween Terror event, players will be able to grab themselves loot boxes. They’ll contain all the usual business: Skins, emotes, victory poses and such. This is unconfirmed as yet, as I say, but I’d say it’s a safe bet. I’ve got one ogling eye on Blizzard for official news.
