Yet Another Superman Update

So, Egotastic! is not a Superman blog. Yet, it seems that Superman news is inescapable these days.

In today's Superpost, we scour Superhero Hype for a trio of rumourific updates.

First, you can expect the first Superman Returns trailer when Batman Begins hits theatres June 17, 2005, with a second trailer to hit around November. Also in June, expect the official promotional website to launch, as well as the teaser poster.

Second, is Hugh "Wolverine" Jackman going to appear in Superman Returns? News via Dark Horizons has it that Jackman is in talks to portray Jonathan Kent, in a flashback scene, or two. That would totally rock!

Third, and probably most unsubstantiated, is the rumour that Superman Returns will borrow its storyline from the "Death of Superman" comic arc, in which Superman is killed at the hands of the monster Doomsday. What has these rumours going? Well, the silver S-shield that appeared last week, along with other rumours of a black suit, and the filming of a death scene, have fanboys' imaginations going wild, reimagining Superman's look from his comic book resurection. And, there is the fact that the movie is called "Superman Returns." Perhaps he will return from the grave. Although I doubt we'll see all the various Super-imposters that littered the comic book arc. Or will we.....
