The Rock Johnson Climbs to New Heights in New Trailer for ‘Skyscraper’ (VIDEO)

The Rock Johnson is the official king of disaster movies. The people of the world have decided that if shit's gonna be blowing up, they want The Rock Johnson at the center of the storm!

For his second disaster movies of 2018, Johnson re-teams with his Central Intelligence director Rawson Marshall Thurber for Skyscraper, another movie where The Rock Johnson plays a normal guy who's probably a divorced dad just trying to win back his baby daughter when a skyscraper explodes or whatever.

Whatever, this looks ridiculous. I like The Rock Johnson a lot but I don't understand why a solid 70% of the movies he does are garbage. Basically every time his name is the only one above the title, you can guarantee it's gonna be a mediocre movie.

I will credit them with giving him an age-appropriate love interest in this one. The 46-year old actor has been paired romantically in the film with 44-year old Neve Campbell. Kudos Hollywood, you did something right for once. Now fix everything around it.

I guess if you're looking for escapist summer entertainment where The Rock Johnson has a prosthetic leg because every hero needs an obstacle, you could do worse than Skyscraper. It opens on July 13.
