The Full ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Trailer Will Make You Believe In Gun-Toting Raccoons

For those of you aren't familiar with the comic (like myself), it's worth pointing out that Guardians of the Galaxy is not a weird kids movie about the "Owls of Ga'Hoole." It's actually a weird sci-fi movie featuring a gun-wielding raccoon and a talking tree. That's much better.



Perhaps hardcore fan boys will fill me in on why this movie is going to suck, but as a non-fan, the trailer has piqued my interest. It's funny, bizarre, and seems to have a great cast.



Chris Pratt from Parks and Rec stars as Star-Lord (a.k.a. Peter Quill), a smart-ass intergalactic outlaw who leads a group of misfits known as the Guardians of the Galaxy. Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro also star in the film, which was directed by James Gunn.


Guardians of the Galaxy opens nationwide on August 1st.
