Next Xbox Will Have No Disk Drive?

According to European site MCV, Microsoft has been telling partners that the next Xbox will not include a disk drive. The information itself has been issued under, what their source is calling, "the strictest non-disclosure agreement they've ever seen".

Instead, the console will read games off of some sort of "interchangeable solid-state card storage", although the exact details are cloudy at best.

New Xbox To Have HD Touch Screen Controller?

Another little bit of juicy information has just surfaced regarding Microsoft's upcoming console. According to the latest issue of Xbox World Magazine, Microsoft's next mystery console will have an HD touch screen on their controllers similar to that of the Wii U.

Although, to be fair, the controller is said to more closely resemble the PS Vita's technology rather than that of the Wii U's chunky controller, with a small HD touchscreen located somewhere in the center of the controller, surrounded by the traditional Xbox buttons.

"That touchscreen will be second only to Kinect in how you operate your console.  It could be a remote control when you're watching TV, a browser when you're on the internet, extra buttons and information when you're playing a game or a portable display when you want to take your game with you."

Sounds pretty awesome? That's because it is. The magazine also went on to state that the new system will, "be a mat-black media hub with a mission to bring games to life in your living room with augmented reality, a directional sound, and a four-player, finger tracking Kinect."

Hopefully at this point the new Xbox is really starting to blow your mind because, with a speculated price of over $600, you'll be digging deep and spending many a night on the corner to pay for this bad boy.
