NBA Playoff Roundup: Celtics Storm South Beach

The Celtics took their talents to South Beach last night and walked away with the upset win, 94-90, to take a 3-2 lead in the series as it heads to Boston for game six.

Boston 94 - Heat 90

The Heat came out, well, hot, and got off to an early lead but the Celtics didn't panic at all. The Heat led by 8 after the first, but Boston cut it to two by halftime.  Read More » »

Heat and Celtics Game Five Preview and Prediction

Miami could have Chris Bosh back tonight; he's a game time decision. If Bosh does play, he could help slow down Kevin Garnett. Bosh could also help on the boards. If Bosh plays, he could help open the floor a little bit. If Bosh plays, he could re-injure his abdominal muscle that's been keeping him out of the lineup and be gone for good. That's a lot of 'ifs' and that's what tonight is about; the 'ifs.'

If Miami keeps their composure and plays like they can, they should win tonight's game five at home. If Rajon Rondo goes nutso like he has shown he can do, and Paul Pierce doesn't foul out, the Celtics could steal a road win. If Ray Allen gets hot again, Boston could be on the cusp of the Finals. Spurs and Thunder Game Five Preview and Prediction

The Western Conference Finals resume tonight, and basically it's the first game of a three game series. San Antonio looks to do what they did at home the first two games, while Oklahoma City looks to be the first team to win on the road in this series.

The Spurs can't let any Thunder secondary scorers to go off like Serge Ibaka did last game. The Spurs had a great chance to take game four, with James Harden scoring only 11, but the slack was more than picked up by Ibaka. So Who's Going to Win? »

NBA Playoff Roundup – Celtics Survive Heat Comeback

The Celtics came out on fire in game four, only to see their big first half lead disappear and the game went to overtime. It was ugly, but it counted, as the Celts outscored the Heat 4-2 in the extra time to take the win.

Boston 93 - Miami 91 (OT)

The Celtics came out with blistering intensity in the first half and threatened to blow the Heat clean out of town. Boston was by as many as 18 in the first half and led by 14 going into the break. The second half was the complete opposite, as Miami held Boston to only 28 points to force the game to OT knotted at 89. Read More » »

NBA Playoff Roundup – Heat Take OT Thriller

It was a game of wild swings in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals last night. Both Boston and Miami took turns dominating until Miami held on to win in overtime.

Miami 115 - Boston 111 (OT)

Boston came out on fire and on a mission. The Celtics knew they had to jump out to an early lead and they did just that, getting ahead by as much as 15 in the second quarter. The Celts eventually led by seven going into the half. The Heat stormed back in the third quarter though, outscoring Boston by 13. Ray Allen sent the game to overtime by hitting a 3-pointer with 34 seconds left.

The play that set up Allen's 3 was run to perfection by Boston, but there is no way in hell LeBron James should've left Allen open to help on a drive to the basket. A layup doesn't hurt you when you're up by three, but leaving Ray Allen almost always will hurt you. Miami pulled it out in OT so it's forgotten, but wow that was a bad move. Heat and Celtics Game Two Preview and Prediciton

The Miami Heat try to take a 2-0 lead tonight over the Boston Celtics in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals in Miami. After dominating Boston in game one, Miami has to be feeling pretty good about their chances.

Even Boston coach Doc Rivers said that his team was overwhelmed by Miami's speed in the first game. I don't see how they can get faster suddenly, but if Boston can commit to playing harder team defense with a lot of help, they might be able to surprise Miami. Who's Going To Win? »

NBA Playoff Roundup – Spurs Quiet Thunder

Game two of the Western Conference Finals was very well played by both teams, but San Antonio showed Oklahoma City that they're going to have bring their A++ game if they want to win in the Spurs' house.

San Antonio 120 - Oklahoma City 111

I'm sure that if OKC coach Scott Brooks knew his big three were going to score 88 points combined, he'd feel pretty good going into the game. Kevin Durant had 31, James Harden dropped 30 and Russell Westbrook had 27, but it wasn't enough as San Antonio dominated throughout the game.

Tony Parker led the Spurs with 34 points, shooting a ridiculous 16-21 from the floor. Manu Ginobili had 20 off the bench, including a rainbow three late in the fourth to effectively end the Thunder's comeback hopes. The other scary stat for OKC was that Tim Duncan only shot 2-11 for 11 points, and the Spurs still owned the game. Is the Series Over? »
