Oh, to be young, good-looking, wealthy, and the best soccer player in the entire world; it must be tough. In case you were wondering, I’m talking about Argentine super soccer stud Lionel Andrés Messi.
Singling him out is not meant to say that being great at other sports is not impressive as well. American football fans love guys like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and yes—Tim Tebow. Hockey fans love to watch Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin. For baseball fans the list is endless.
When any of the aforementioned guys do something big fans all over the United States go nuts. However, when Leo Messi does something big millions of fans all over the world celebrate.

Lionel Messi Set Single Season Scoring Record in Europe (VIDEO)
In case you haven’t heard, that Lio Messi guy has got game.
The 24 year-old Barcelona star from Argentina is already recognized as one of the best players in the game today. On Wednesday he helped further cement his place in history when he broke the single season scoring record previously held by Gerd Muller.
Muller, who played for Bayern Munich, has held the record since the 1972-73 season with 67 goals. With a hat trick against Malaga Wednesday Messi set the new mark with 68 this season (2011-12).
Some purists might balk at Messi’s record since he played a few more games than Muller did, but at 24 the chances are pretty good Messi will shatter his own record before he is done playing.
