Robert Griffin III Signs with Redskins to Cap Off Wild Three and a Half Months

Breathe, Redskins fans, breathe. Robert Griffin III made it official, signing his contract worth a guaranteed $21.1 million over the next four years to be your starting QB. Egotastic! broke the story that the Skins would trade up to draft Griffin, and it's been nuts ever since.

It's the perfect cap to a wild few months for RG3. Back in April, he helped the Baylor women's basketball team cut down the nets after they won the NCAA championship, which was kind of weird if you think about it. Then he was all over the place doing interviews leading up the draft, and getting unfortunate headlines in the process. He was even immortalized in sandwich form, giving plenty of nightmare fuel to all of us.

RG3 was allegedly extorted by another Baylor athlete, and in between that and the other stuff, was the number two pick in the draft. He's also super-human in NCAA Football '13 from EA Sports.

The news that RG3 is now officially the starting quarterback for Washington is also a sign that football is just around the corner, and now it's time to get down to business. He missed the first couple days of mini-camp while finishing up his contract, but the real thing starts next week and having the future of the franchise signed and ready to go should make everyone in the organization extremely happy.
