Return of the Superheroes: ‘Catwoman’ and Other Spin-Offs That May Be Headed Your Way

With every successful superhero movie comes a whole wave of talk and speculation about possible spin-offs. The recent one being The Dark Knight Rises and possible feature films for the likes of Anne Hathaway's Catwoman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Robin.

A quick trip down memory lane (and recent superhero movies) will reveal a similar trend:

• When X-Men Origins: Wolverine hit, people set their sights on Ryan Reynolds and began talking about a possible Deadpool spin-off.
• When The Avengers smashed box office records and raked in close to $1.5 billion worldwide, spin-offs were reportedly in the works for both Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye.
• When Sam Raimi's Spider-Man franchise concluded, rumors about a Venom spin-off began to circulate. After Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man hit theaters, new life was breathed into these rumors.
