Happy Comic Book Day! Here Are Ten Comics You’ll Never Be Able to Afford to Own

While Comic Book Day means nothing to you plebeians out there, to us nerds it means...well, it means about just as little, but it's an excuse to talk about comics. When I was a kid, it was great that if I only had some loose pocket change, I could still go down to the store and buy a comic book. Of course, I'd always buy in the middle of a series and be completely lost by what was going on. (So wait, Superman died??) But today we're talking about the pricey ones.

Unless you're Nic Cage, chances are you'll never be wealthy enough to bid on one of these issues, then sell it back in order to pay off the mortgage on one of your two European castles. You know, that whole thing. Comic book collecting has become just as lucrative as collecting baseball cards. Except the ones who do it probably got laid a lot less in high school (so I've heard...). If you are lucky enough to get your hands on one of these, be sure to wash the chocolate from that Twix bar off your fingers before turning the page.
