The New Rogue One Trailer Looks Badass (VIDEO)

Here it is folks, the brand spanking new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer and it is pretty effing intense. We find out a little more about the plot of the movie this time. It seems that Jyn Erso's father, played by Mads Mikkelsen, is the dude who designed the Death Star and that's why the Rebellion brings Jyn in to steal the plans for the battle station. There is a lot going on in this trailer and it reminds me of a couple of different genres that were always influences on Star Wars but this time are overt. The first is that this feels like a war movie. Even though "wars" was in the title of the film series, this is more like a Saving Private Ryan in space than a fantasy film like the first three. It also kind of reminds me of The Seven Samurai in that a team of heroes is assembled to take on an almost certain suicide mission. It also feels a little like a Western.

Either way, if the movie is anything like the trailer, we are in for a treat. Oh, and Darth Vader is in it.
