There have been rumors for a while now, including hints from the big Sony hack last year, that it was happening. But a lot of people dismissed as an idea too stupid to be real. But it's happening, my friends. Sony will produce a crossover film of 21 Jump Street and Men in Black. They are in talks with Muppets director James Bobin to direct. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum will return to reprise their roles from 21 Jump Street. That's not a surprise. Those guys will do anything that comes across their agent's desk. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not be back, however, because...well...because this is a stupid idea.

I can't imagine how bad this is going to be. 21 Jump Street was OK and the first Men in Black was awesome, but just because two things are good separately doesn't mean they go well together. I like steak and cookie dough ice cream but I'm not going to eat them at the same time. What this reminds me of is back in the 40's when they would do mash-ups of Abbot and Costello meets the Wolfman or whatever. Ugh. Hollywood.
