NBA Playoff Roundup – Thunder Rolls and Heat Sizzle

There were only two games in the NBA Playoffs on Thursday night, and they both ended up pretty much the same. New York lost at home to Miami to go down 0-3, and Dallas lost at home to Oklahoma City to go down 0-3.

Miami 87 - New York 70

The Knicks are terrible, especially with Amar'e Stoudemire on the bench with his arm in a sling after losing a fight with a fire extinguisher case and nearly losing half of his hand. New York had nothing going, and the Heat cruised to the win behind LeBron James' 32 points, 8 boards and 5 assists. Dwyane Wade added 20 points and Chris Bosh made it to the game after the birth of his son earlier in the day to grab 10 boards and score 9 points. This series is over, basically, and I'm sure being down 0-3 won't do anything for the Knicks interest. At least Kate Upton was at the game. Read More » »

Tyson Chandler Named Defensive Player of the Year

Tyson Chandler is a talented player. He proved that last season as an integral part of the Dallas Mavericks NBA Championship season. When Dallas opted not to sign him this season the New York Knicks were more than happy to snatch him right up.

It paid as the Knicks were able to make their way back to the post season for the second season in a row after being absent from the playoffs for the previous six seasons. It paid off for Chandler as well. His contribution to the team earned him the Defensive Player of the Year Award.

And the Emmy Goes to…LeBron James! (VIDEO)

LeBron James get fouled in Game One of the 2012 Playoffs
Watch Video

Maybe he has been hanging out with the soccer team over in Liverpool too much. Maybe he's been watching too many John Stockton videos. Maybe he's been working with Terrell Owens's acting coach in preparation for life after basketball. Whatever the reason, it was one heck of an acting performance by Miami Heat star LeBron James during Game One of the their series with the New York Knicks (which the Heat won 100-67).

There is no question that Tyson Chandler fouled James on this play. Flagrant? I don't know. It does look like Chandler extended that forearm into the upper back of James a little too much. If anyone should be penalized its James for this horrible acting performance. The flop was a classic soccer move; I'll give him credit for that. However, running around holding the back of his neck when he was hit in the back? Please.

Maybe what really has James in pain is the terrible memory of Tyson Chandler and the Dallas Mavericks defeating him and the Heat in the NBA Finals last year and how he failed to perform when it mattered most. That would bother most men with his supposed considerable talents.
