Paul Pierce Starts the Night Right!

He speaks well and with authority!

I'll admit it. I was one of the many in the blogo-sphere that was ready to write the aging Boston Celtics off earlier this season. I am now happy to admit I was wrong. Thanks to a couple of injuries to Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, the Celtics are going to have a pretty easy semi-final round against the Philadelphia 76ers.

This series is likely to go pretty quick, and I'd expect many more highlights like this in the near future. Paul Pierce gave us this gem last night as his first basket of the game en route to a 24 point, 12 rebound game and a 107-91 win.

NBA Playoffs – Bulls Miss Rose, Pierce Leads Celts, Kobe Goes Off

The Celtics took game two on the road in Atlanta, thanks to Paul Pierce, and Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to a 2-0 lead in their series with the Nuggets.

Philadelphia seriously shifted the momentum with a 109-92 win in the Windy City, and the Bulls confidence might just be shaken enough that the eigth seeded Sixers could pull this series off.  Read More » »

With a little more than a minute left to go it was a little early to celebrate, but when you're feeling it sometimes you just have to go with it--like Boston Celtic Paul Pierce did Tuesday in Game Two of their best of seven series with the Atlanta Hawks.

Perhaps it wasn't so much of a celebration, but a show of joy that when you come to together as a team you can overcome adversity (like losing Rajon Rondo for a game) and still play quality basketball. Pierce ended up leading the way (36 points, 14 rebounds) to a 87-80 win for the Celtics.

Or maybe he was just celebrating. Whatever the reason, it looked pretty darn cool.
