NBA Playoff Roundup – Knicks Win, Bulls on the Brink

There were four games on the playoff schedule in the NBA yesterday and most series are looking to be decided quickly. The Knicks avoided the sweep, the Bulls are toast thanks to injuries, the Lakers are set to finish off Denver, and Boston is showing Atlanta they're not ready for the big time.

Philadelphia 89 - Chicago 82

It's easy to want to feel bad for the Bulls. They earned the number one seed, even with Derrick Rose missing 27 regular season games. Rose came back seemingly healthy for the first round, then tore his ACL at the end a game one victory. Chicago lost the next game, then lost center Joakim Noah in the next game with a nasty sprained ankle. Those are the breaks, and Philadelphia is playing inspired ball in the meantime. They should close out Chicago, who have to be feeling mentally defeated at this point. Philly leads 3-1 with game five tomorrow in Chicago. Read More » »

J.R. Smith Gives Knicks Faithful Something to Cheer About (VIDEO)

It has been a crazy season for the New York Knicks. They've seen the rise of Linsanity, the departure of a coach, and more injuries than they care to imagine. In the end they made it into the post season as the No 7 seed. That's where the good times pretty much stopped.

The Miami Heat have pretty much had their way with the Knicks, easily winning the first two games in Miami. Thursday night they gave a better fight, but in the end the result was the same--a win for Miami (this time 87-70).

However, for a brief moment they did have something to go nuts over courtesy of J.R. Smith. if this dunk doesn't pump you up a little you might want to get your vitals checked. You could be dead.

Tyson Chandler Named Defensive Player of the Year

Tyson Chandler is a talented player. He proved that last season as an integral part of the Dallas Mavericks NBA Championship season. When Dallas opted not to sign him this season the New York Knicks were more than happy to snatch him right up.

It paid as the Knicks were able to make their way back to the post season for the second season in a row after being absent from the playoffs for the previous six seasons. It paid off for Chandler as well. His contribution to the team earned him the Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Amar’e Stoudemire’s Hand Injury Sounds Extremely Disturbing

Witnesses who were there in the immediate aftermath of Amar'e Stoudemire cutting his hand after the Knicks lost to the Heat in game two of the series are painting a pretty gruesome picture.

Sources tell ESPN exactly what they saw, and I hope you're not eating lunch right now.

"Half of his hand was just hanging off. It was really bad. Blood was just squirting out. That's why they had the paramedics come in, because they thought he might have punctured an artery because of how much blood was coming out."

Well, that's just disgusting. Read More » »

Mark Sanchez Booed at Knicks Game

New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez and WR Santonio Holmes were sitting together in the front row at last night's Knicks game vs. the Clippers. That's good news, because Holmes was talking a lot of smack about Sanchez after the season, so they are apparently over it now.

The bad news is when the duo was shown on the Madison Square Garden video board, they were welcomed with an arena full of booing.  Read More » »

New York Knicks Streaking Under New Coach

The New York Knicks' wildly up and down season is on another upswing, after notching their fourth straight win under interim coach Mike Woodson. Woodson took over for Mike D'Antoni, who stepped down a week ago. Since the change, the Knicks have blown out everyone the've played.

The Knicks smoked Portland 121-79 in Woodson's first game. They followed that up beating by Indiana by 15 and 14 in back-to-back nights. Last night, New York breezed by Toronto 106-87. The Knicks have regained the 8th seed in the playoff race, but whether or not they can keep it will start getting tested tonight against Atlantic division leader Philadelphia. Read More » »
