Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn first made a name for himself in the late 90s and early aughts with his Pusher trilogy starring another mad Dane, Mads Mikkelsen. He's moved closer to the mainstream with his films Bronson, Valhalla Rising, Drive, Only God Forgives, and The Neon Demon, without ever really compromising what made his films so exciting and unusual in the first place.

His next project, Too Old to Die Young, is a ten episode limited series on Amazon Prime that will feature ten episodes, each running around 90 minutes. The director's frequent collaborator and composer Cliff Martinez said in an interview with Screen Daily that the series will feel like "a 16-hour movie."

Too Old to Die Young is jam packed with recognizable faces like Miles Teller, Jena Malone, Callie Hernandez, Billy Baldwin, and Oscar nominee John Hawkes. It looks and feels, from this first trailer at least, right in line with everything else Refn has done over the years, so it's safe to say that if you're not already a fan, this isn't going to do much to change your mind.

Nicolas Winding Refn's Too Old to Die Young makes its way to Amazon Prime on June 14.
