We all know David Harbour as the lovable Sheriff What's His Nuts on Stranger Things, and he sounded perfectly cast to step into the title role in a reboot of Hellboy. Little did we know that the lovable red demon played by Ron Perlman seems to be dead and buried. Behold...

That's one BAMF if you ask me. I'm eager to see what direction the movie is heading. Will there be a light-hearted edge to it or will it be full on grit?

Coming Soon brings us these first two looks at Harbour in character and full makeup in the Neil Marshall directed 2019 release

The rest of the cast includes Ian McShane, taking over for the late great John Hurt as Professor Broom, and Milla Jovovich as the villainous Blood Queen—the film was titled Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen at one point, but as it's now a straight reboot, there's been no word on whether it will retain that title.

Lost and Hawaii Five-O star Daniel Dae Kim is also on board as the evil Ben Daimio, which you may have heard about recently. Originally Ed Skrein, who played the badguy in Deadpool, had been cast in the role but then bowed out when the casting came under fire for being a white-washing of an Asian character. The whole thing has thankfully been resolved and this first look at Harbour in costume is chilling and awesome enough to make us forget about that whole kerfuffle.

This new Hellboy is due in theaters on January 11, 2019.
