Automatic Toilet Paper Dispensers and Other Frivolous Automated Stuff (VIDEO)

We've got toilets that automatically flush, doors that automatically open, and car doors that automatically lock. We've got soap dispensers that automatically, well, dispense soap, and we've got faucets that turn on (and off) automatically.

Another thing to add to the list of fully-automated stuff that humans have come with are automatic toilet paper dispensers called Camitool. It seems kind of silly to have something push toilet paper towards you, when all you need to do to get a few squares is pull and cut it loose.

But Japan-based Shikoku didn't develop the Camitool for the rich and famous. No, it's actually for public restrooms to prevent rolls of tissue from getting germinated and to help people with rheumatism grab some TP. Well, good for them.

We've seen a lot of frivolous stuff that's been automated for reasons less commendable than this, so we racked our brains to come up with list of things in the bathroom that didn't need to be automated--but was still automated anyway:

1. Automatic Toothpaste Dispenser. Really? How hard would it be to squeeze that tube of toothpaste yourself? For shame.

2. Automatic Opening-and-Closing Toilet Bowl Lid. If the lid's such a pain for you, then why not just do away with it to make things simpler? Scratch that. That would make things extremely unhygienic.

3. Automatic Soap Dispenser. Okay, this makes things a lot simpler and easier, but I think soap pump dispensers were pretty convenient already.

4. Automatic Toilet Sanitation System. Here's one that doesn't really belong to the list because for once, it's pretty useful, especially for public restrooms.
