Check Out the Trailer for Tomorrow’s Netflix Release of ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’ (VIDEO)

Yesterday we brought you some details on the upcoming experimental Netflix movie Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, including that it's purported to be a Choose Your Own Adventure style film with seemingly endless options from which to select. Then last night they dropped the announcement trailer, and though there's no mention of the gimmick in this episode, what we do get is fairly ominous.

In true Black Mirror fashion, the film's synopsis doesn't give much away...

In 1984, a young programmer begins to question reality as he adapts a sprawling fantasy novel into a video game and soon faces a mind-mangling challenge. Welcome back.

Obviously the year 1984 wasn't chosen randomly or by happenstance, so there's likely some sort of connection between this episode and the George Orwell classic. As mentioned yesterday, 1984 was also the year that a computer game by the name of Bandersnatch was to have been released, but it never saw the light of day.

What does all of this mean? Unfortunately we're going to have to wait until we actually lay eyes on Black Mirror: Bandersnatch to know for sure how all of this will connect, or if it will connect at all. Fortunately, that wait ends when the film debuts on Netflix tonight at midnight.
