Hair Robbery On The Rise In Venezuela. Yes.

Besides all of the murder, drug trafficking, rape, kidnapping, and other fun, Venezuela has added a new crime to the list: hair robbery. What the F is that, you say? Muggers come up to women on the street and force them at gunpoint to put their hair in ponytails. The muggers then chop off the ponytail and run off into the night. There is a growing market in Venezuela for hair extensions, which these capitalists take advantage of buy selling the hair to salons. Hugo Chavez's socialist dream is crumbling one stolen hair strand at a time. The preferred hair is long and straight. Some women have taken to curling their hair to discourage the thievery.

The irony being that after these women lose all of their hair, they probably go to the salon to get hair extensions. I have to believe that some of these women had their hair returned to them. Of course, they have to pay $1000 for getting their hair back, but still. I'm glad I live in America where if we get mugged it's for our wallets and iPhones the way God intended.
