First Image from ‘Elysium’ Shows Matt Damon is Ready to Kick Butt

If you're still making up your mind about attending the San Diego Comic Con next week, then here's more incentive for you to go. Sony's going to be showing some exclusive footage from Elysium, and if you've been following the movie since it was announced, you're probably aware that we've got nothing about the flick so far.

Well, except for the first image that you see above that The Playlist recently featured online. Matt Damon stars in Neill Blomkamp's follow-up to 2009's hit District 9, and here you'll see him wielding a huge-ass gun and looking mighty fierce in the process.

Damon looks tough and he's surprisingly able to pull off the bald head and gruff personality.

In 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on Elysium, and the rest, who live on Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Foster) will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. When unlucky Max (Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission, that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

Elysium stars Damon alongside William Fichtner, Diego Luna, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga, Faran Tahir and Wagner Moura and will hit theaters on March 1st next year.
