There is a Silver Lining for the Charlotte Bobcats

As kids we are all taught to look on the bright side of things; to search for that silver lining in every dark cloud that comes our way. For the fans of the Charlotte Bobcats it has been pretty tough to find a silver lining this season, but on Thursday night as they played the last game of the 2011-12 season, they finally found it.

They set a record (all be it one that no one wants). On a night when the Knicks couldn't really care less if they won, they did just that defeating the Bobcats 104-84.

The loss was the 23rd consecutive one for the team giving them a record of 7-59 this season for a winning percentage of .106 narrowly beating the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers record of .110 (9-73).

When it came to playing basketball this year, the Bobcats simply were not very good at it. It's no wonder that there was talk during the season of certain college teams being able to beat them this year. The fact that they were at the bottom of just about every statistical category doesn't help.

On the bright side, it is hard to believe the team can get any worse. They are not devoid of talent, but they do need a coach that actually wants to coach them. Paul Silas made it clear throughout the season that he didn't know what to do with the team, and that promoting his son's future was more important.

At least they have a solid shot at picking up Anthony Davis next year (the real silver lining). Even if they don't get him they will still get a person that should make an immediate impact on a bad team.
