America has had a love affair with alcohol since the beginning. Except for those weird prohibition years, that is. But today we frown on drinking too much all the time. Then you are considered an alcoholic and that is no bueno. But back at the founding of our great country, our forefathers were drinking all the time. It's easy to see why. Beer, wine, and whiskey aren't going to give you typhoid or cholera. No one wants to poop themselves to death. They drank beer or cider for breakfast and kept at it all day. Jefferson was very fond of fine wines and would often drink several bottles with his guests at dinner. Washington even had his own whiskey distillery at Mount Vernon. John Adams was that big largely because he enjoyed him some beer. Even today it's hard to keep up with them.

But one enterprising journalist tried. His name is Patrick Allen Coleman and he drank like a founding father for a day and realized that this great nation was thought up and created by a bunch of drunk frat guys. Are you really surprised?
