The reviews are in across the world and, with the exception of a low score here and there, it looks as though Halo 4 has quickly become the massively popular game we all believed it would be. It's always hard to judge games when they're given so much attention in the media. The hype builds until almost every member of the gaming industry is convinced that this game will be the greatest of the year. Truth be told, I had my doubts regarding Halo 4 but it looks as though everything is running smoothly today as VGChartz's estimated units sold for Halo 4's opening day top 3 million.

3.1 million to be more precise...

This number has taken Halo 4 to the top as the current ruler of opening day sales in the history of gaming. Yes, it's a pretty big title but is anyone really all that surprised? 343 Industries can thank the good 'ol U.S. of A for the monumental success as 1.9 million units have been confirmed to have been purchased by those of us in the U.S. That's a hefty 60%...just saying.

Halo 4 was previously expected to sell 4 million units by the end of it's first week. With these numbers, it really doesn't seem so hard to believe at this point. The estimate is based off the fact that Halo 3 sold 3.8 million units within it's first week, with Halo: Reach close behind at 3.7 million respectively. With the game releasing in Japan today, we're expecting the numbers to keep climbing at a pretty drastic rate at least for the first week.

Despite the game's apparent short campaign, Halo 4 has been weighed, measured and found worthy of our hard earned cash.

Still not convinced that Halo 4 is really the game it's been hyped up to be? Check out our full review and see why Halo 4 should be at the top of your ‘to buy' list.
