One of the most hyped games of 2012 has undoubtedly been Halo 4. The end of a trilogy is always a scary point for fans of the series, as it's the perfect time to end the series for good. Needless to say, the Halo franchise continued to push on after Halo 3 with a number of titles that kept their distance from the original trilogy. Halo 4 is finally arriving next week and the reviews are beginning to pour in.
While I've, personally, yet to play the game, some interesting news has come out of Nowgamer.com regarding Halo 4's campaign. After playing through the story on Heroic, NowGamer has reported a running time of just 6 hours and 20 minutes to go from start to finish.
They've made sure to note that they were sticking strictly to the campaign itself; avoiding finding all the Terminals or completing any of the challenges along the way. This is no surprise as a large portion of the FPS genre have been seeing a major decline in the length of their main stories. As a fan of massive RPG stories, game's take a major blow for me when they have a short story. Regardless, Halo 4 is still looking to be a quality title and is one that I'll most definitely be picking up next week.
A lot of readers may be wondering how a king of AAA titles could hold such a short running time. With a lot of FPS games like Halo, the biggest aspect of the game itself is the online multiplayer. Halo has long since been a leader in online multiplayer, next to other massive series' such as Call of Duty. A lot of players will agree that they don't play Halo for the campaign anyway, as it's rarely as enjoyable as teaming up with friends and talking shit to people across the world.
