Thanks an ‘effing bunch for this story, nerdreactor. It's too early in the morning to see this kind of batshit crazy.
Meet exhibit A: the ‘Clicker' (image from thelastofus.wikia). The Last of Us is plagued by a malevolent horde of Not-Zombies (humans infected by an angry-ass parasite inspired by the real-life nastiness of Ophiocordyceps unilateralis), with this handsome chap being the final stage of mutation. It's what the Elephant Man would look like, if he grew an extra unfortunate lumpy bit or two and forgot to put his damn skin on before leaving the house.
It's a blind, ugly-ass murderizing machine desperate to kill your face right in the face. None of which is, we can surely all agree, particularly sexy.
Fret not, though. As is so often the case, a fine young lady of the modelling persuasion is on hand to show us the error of our ways. In what we can only hope is the harbinger of a new era of remarkable-yet-bedwettingly-terrifying The Last of Us cosplay, the sextastic Emma Franks became a monster.
Check her out --in both senses of the term-- on her modelling profile here. Then, take a look at more images from the shoot here, courtesy of make-up artist JWBeyond and veteran camera-flailer Innershadows Photography.
Meanwhile, in the real world, cordyceps seems content to innocuously grow in the bodies of insects before exploding from the poor little bastards' bodies like the chestburster from Alien. But still, holy balls.
