Tom Hardy’s Bane Faces Off Against Batman’s Baddest Villains

As more and more footage of Tom Hardy as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises get released ahead of the film's premiere, it's easy (and a good idea) to forget that the character originally appeared as one of Poison Ivy's henchmen in the 1997 cheesefest Batman and Robin, a film so debilitating that it took Warner Brothers nearly a decade to scrape it off the bottom of their shoe and start over with a new vision.

So clearly Hardy will stake his own claim to the role, but how will he stack-up against those already in the Caped Crusader's Rogues' Gallery?
