TV & FILM
Michael Garcia - August 25, 2016
In my personal opinion one of the best horror films in the last 20 years was The Ring. The story of a video that kills you after seven days and the psychotic little ghost girl that inhabits an evil VHS tape was chilling. But what do you do now that less and less people are watching any media that isn't streaming or digital? It's not like people pass around VHS tapes any more. But we do send viral videos. That's how the little girl and her weird well video is getting around in Rings, the long-awaited sequel to The Ring. In it a young woman watches the video in a forward, probably from her parents or her aunts, (who else sends video forwards via email?). Then the little girl starts haunting the young woman and all hell breaks loose. Then the video starts up on the crappy screens of an airplane and you know things aren't going to end well.
Will it be good? Who knows? But the trailer looks good.
