The Rockets Destroy “The Dreidel Song”

There aren't a lot of Chanukah songs out there but one of the most beloved is The Dreidel Song. Many a happy night has been spent by Jewish kids spinning the dreidel for delicious chocolate gelt. That's why this horrible rendition of the classic song by the Houston Rockets is so distressing. I've never understood why they make athletes sing. It's not really funny and it's certainly not pleasant to listen to. It's like they didn't even play the song for these guys beforehand so they knew the tune. Plus they have problems reading the teleprompter. It hurts me as both a Jew and a native Houstonian to see my hometown team kill this timeless classic. It's like a pogrom for the ears.

Happy Chanukah!
