Chris ‘Birdman’ Andersen Target of Extortion Plot According to his Lawyer

Denver Nuggets player Chris 'Birdman' Andersen is the victim of scorned female fan, and that's why investigators from the Internet Crimes Against Children squad searched his Colorado home, according to Andersen's lawyer.

Colin Bresee, an attorney for Andersen, put out a statement today with their explanation that reads in part:

A female fan in 2010 mailed Mr. Andersen multiple letters and included several photos in which she was scantily clad. Chris and this woman communicated with each other and in 2011, this woman, who represented herself as 21 years of age, flew to Colorado, showing her required identification. After leaving Colorado, she became upset at his lack of interest. In 2012, she threatened to retaliate if he did not provide financial remuneration.

Andersen has not been charged with a crime or arrested.

NBA Playoff Roundup – Nuggets Force Game Seven, Two Series End

There were three games last night in the NBA Playoffs, and while Boston and Philadelphia finished off Atlanta and Chicago, respectively, Denver pushed Los Angeles to a game seven.

Philadelphia 79 - Chicago 78

The 76ers became the fifth 8 seed in NBA Playoff history to beat a 1 seed. Not to take away anything from what Philadelphia did, but the Bulls weren't exactly playing with the same team that went 50-16 in the regular season. Derrick Rose tore his ACL at the end of game one, and Joakim Noah grotesquely sprained his ankle in game three. Still, that's not Philadelphia's problem; injuries happen to everyone. Andre Iguodala knocked down two free throws in the final seconds to give the 76ers the win and a second round date with the Boston Celtics.   Celtics Win, Lakers Lose »

Lakers Can’t Close Out Series Against Nuggets (VIDEO)

LA Lakers lose Game 6 to Denver Nuggets 113-96
Watch Video

Typically for the Los Angeles Lakers the team goes how Kobe Bryant goes. Well, on Thursday night when the team was trying to close out its opening round series against the feisty Denver Nuggets, Kobe Bryant was so sick he was likely wishing he was anywhere but a basketball court.

Sure enough, the Lakers failed to close out the series; Denver won 113-96. Read More » »

Breaking News: Chris ‘Birdman’ Andersen’s Home Investigated for Internet Crime

Denver's 9News is reporting that Chris 'Birdman' Andersen's home is being investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children.

The report says that investigators seized property from Andersen's house this morning in Larkspur. The investigation was launched by a referral from a California law enforcement agency.

Andersen did participate in practice this morning and is expected to play against the Lakers tonight in Game 6 of their first round NBA playoff series.

NBA Playoffs Roundup – Three Teams Survive, Magic Eliminated

It was a pretty full schedule in the NBA Playoffs last night, and all four games had the potential to be series enders. Only one team couldn't stay alive, as the Orlando Magic's tumultuous season mercifully came to an end.

Indiana 105 - Orlando 87

After a surprising win in game one, Orlando managed to lose the next four and see their ugly season finally come to an end. Indiana, led by Danny Granger with 25 points, won their first playoff series since 2005. Orlando, who had a roller coaster ride of a season, probably couldn't have won this series even with injured center Dwight Howard, who was out after back surgery. Indiana now waits for Miami to finish off New York. 3 More Game Recaps »

Nuggets vs. Clippers Provided us with some Great Photography

I've mentioned my love of great sports photography before, and last night's game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets was captured beautifully by sideline photographers.

The dunks, the jumpers, and even the Denver Nuggets Dancers were all caught in those perfect moments and saved here for posterity and your enjoyment.

The Clips held off Denver 104-98, to stay within a half game of the Lakers in the Pacific Division. The Lakers own the tiebreaker between the two teams, so the Clippers need a little help to overtake them.
