After NWA got the biopic treatment a few years back with the smash hit Straight Outta Compton, I thought studios would be lining up to do biopics about every major hip hop group. It seems that they were scared off when the Tupac biopic bombed, moving future projects to streaming services like Hulu, who is bringing us a miniseries chronicling the rise of the Wu-Tang Clan titled Wu-Tang: An American Saga.

Created and produced by founding Wu-Tang member RZA, director Alex Tse (last year's SuperFly remake), and super-producer Brian Grazer, Wu-Tang: An American Saga will tell the tale of how RZA, GZA, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, U-God, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface Killah, and Masta Killa became one of the pioneering forces in East Coast rap. Based on RZA's 2005 book "The Wu-Tang Manual," the series follows "the Clan's formation, a vision of Bobby Diggs aka The RZA, who strives to unite a dozen young, black men that are torn between music and crime but eventually rise to become the unlikeliest of American success stories."

As we all know, Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuttin ta Fuck Wit, so make sure you tune in when Wu-Tang: An American Saga premieres on Hulu on September 4.
