Brad Bird has a reputation for being demanding, exacting, and difficult at times, but there's no denying that his finished products speak for themselves as absolute masterworks of their respective genres. For his second feature film, Bird was brought to Pixar—where several of his fellow Cal Arts alums were working—and created what remains, for my money, the best superhero movie ever made, The Incredibles.

With the sequel opening in theaters nationwide tonight, now is as good a time as any to check out this hilarious new Honest Trailer from the good folks over at Screen Junkies. It's much more reverent and borderline fawning over the film compared with many of their other HT videos, but that's likely because there's next to nothing wrong with the film. The Incredibles is as close to perfection as films get.

Perhaps the most astutely observed part of this Honest Trailer is when they point out that the villainous Syndrome was a future prediction of toxic fanboy culture. In retrospect, he's the absolute perfect representation of that horrendous subset of fandom, and yet another reason why Bird's legend as a prognosticator continues to grow. I mean, just look how many chefs there are now with rats up under the toques.

I'm also a big fan of the Willy Wonka, Simpsons, and Family Guy references during the cast list. Brilliant stuff. The Incredibles 2 opens in theaters everywhere starting tonight.
