Marvel is done resting. They've had it with slowly trickling movies out at the pace of one or two a year. 2017 has three Marvel films on the docket and 2018 will see four films added to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with the February release of Black Panther. Critically acclaimed director Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station) steps behind the camera and is looking to deliver something unique with his first mega-budget movie.

If you were expecting a run-of-the-mill teaser with only a handful of scenes from the film, guess again. This is a full-fledged trailer that introduces the film's heroes and villains. On the heroic end of things we see the return of Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa, aka Black Panther, and Martin Freeman's Everett Ross, both of whom debuted in last year's Captain America: Civil War. We also get our first glimpse of Lupita Nyong'o and Danai Gurira as two of the Dora Milaje, Black Panther's all-female bodyguards. As for the villains, we get Andy Serkis reprising his role as Ulysses Klaue from Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Coogler regular Michael B. Jordan as the evil Erik Killmonger.

There's a lot here to process and you can expect the various internet nerds to deconstruct this thing in full, but for now, just drink in the imagery and what looks to be a pretty unique looking flick in a comic book movie universe full of sameness. Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, 2018.
