There only seems to have been one basketball story coming out of the 2012 London Olympics, and that revolved around the antics of the US Male team and its pantheon of stars.

But now Australia's Belinda Snell is looking to rival Kobe Bryant and friends with her astonishing last-gasp three pointer against France set to be the shot of the games.

You can watch it above and come to your own conclusion.

Unfortunately the basket only tied the game at 65-65 and then the French managed to overcome this heartbreak to win 74-70 in added time. Rendering Snell's impressive effort, futile.

Still, it looked pretty though.
