Interview with “The Goat” Contestant and Social Media Sensation CJ Franco!

CJ Franco is an instagram sensation, reality show star and she is currently on the Amazon Prime show called The Goat, which premiered on May 9th and that brings back reality stars from other shows and puts them up against each other in challenges to see who the Greatest of All Time is.

We had the pleasure of asking CJ Franco a few questions because interviews are cool.

This is what she had to say:

You have been a social media "influencer" and content creator for a long time, what are some of the craziest things that have happened to you thanks to social media?

I got cast for a reality show off of my social, which ended one of the craziest adventures of my life. Filming in the Cayman Islands mid pandemic with the legend Nikki Glazer! Originally when I agreed to do the show it was  “untitled dating show” When they announced the name was Fboy island I was horrified!  What my parents would think? My Mom was obviously concerned but my Dad.. well he is a very open minded part of the  LGBT community and he put my mind at ease jokingly commenting! “Fboy Island? Oh I’m  jealous!”

Do you think that being a social media personality has helped you or hindered you?

Social media has treated me so good. I wish it didn’t take up 16 hours of each day, but oh well!

What are some of the dark sides of social media that you've seen or experienced?

Honestly my account is puppy dogs and rainbows.. also I do use word filters so I can avoid any thing blatantly negative.. if you’re going to insult me you’re gonna have to get creative!

Do you have any crazy fan stories, we'd love to hear them!

Right after I got engaged my fiancé and I were at the Cabo airport and I have this weird feeling I’m feeling I’m being followed and I look back and there are two teenage girls with their heads pressed together whispering at full volume “is that her”. After about 15 minutes one of them came up to me but she was too nervous to say anything so I gave her a big hug as her friend filmed the entire interaction 2 feet from my face. She said the cutest things “Cj, did you know—“  girl..yes “was I obvious?”  i hesitated “.. yes girl, yes you were!”

How has social media changed in the time you've been on it with platforms like OnlyFans and do you think that it is good or bad thing for society?

I dont want to salt anyones hustle. I think we can all agree closed mouths dont get fed

Do you believe that social media is bringing out the best or the worst in people and why?

Every time I mentioned any “reading” I’ve done in the past 5 years I’m really just quoting something I read on instagram which was verfied by absolutely no one.

You were on a dating reality show called Fuck Boy Island, would you say that reality dating shows are staged, or is what we see really how it went down?

Both shows I’ve done the producers look like kids in a candy shop! They work hard to put strong personalities together and see what happens. Feels like they’re betting on us and so intrigued why we make every decision we make. I’d say yes its curated but no ones telling us what to do. They might lead us with a triggering question or a bottle of tequila may magically appear in the midst of a heated conversation.

Its not.

Idk about you, but I’ve treated my technology very nicely

Tell us about the new series that you are on called  "The Goat"?

The GOAT is a competition house reality show where 14 reality stars compete in Tosh style unhinged competitions where luck is more important than skill. It’s giving lord of the flies, its giving survivor, its giving unhinged Tosh.0. The cast was like all the bad kids at detention but with no supervision.. aside from Tosh occasionally.. which is worse!

Give us 3 reasons why we should watch it!

I dont want to be this invested in a show called The GOAT, but once you start good luck not getting sucked in. If you need a laugh put us on in the background and I promise it’ll cheer you up! Also the first episode is up on amazon primes YouTube so dont say I’ve never gave you anything!

I’m currently working with the animal rescue Yogis House and fostering a dog I’ve nick-named “Little Fox”.  I’m currently in talks with The Dodo to share her story as she recovers from cancer. Following her story from being a sick abandoned senior dog to finding her forever home!
