It was the end of an era on HBO last night as their Sex and the City for Millennials, Girls, came to an end after six seasons! Over the course of those six seasons, the show featured a stupid amount of nudity—most of it courtesy of series star and co-creator Lena Dunham—and definitely pushed the boundaries of what sort of sexual acts are shown on television. Seriously, who could forget Shiri Appleby's nude debut in season three when Adam Driver dropped a (fake) load on her chest? Or when Allison Williams got a rim job at the kitchen sink? Those kinds of things just didn't really happen on TV, even HBO, prior to that.
It's not like Girls opened the semen floodgates or anything, but it really did have an impact on sexuality and television and should always be celebrated for taking the risks it did. Love or hate Lena Dunham, she definitely had her finger on the pulse of a more progressive sexual society and though we hate to see these Girls go, we love to watch them leave! Enjoy this photo gallery of the series' stars at the sixth season premiere!
