Former Penn State assistant football coach and convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky was sentenced to basically die in prison today, when a judge handed down a minimum 30-year sentence. The 68-year-old was facing as much as 400 years, but the judge reportedly felt that sentencing him to that long would have been superfluous. Maybe, but it would have been nice to hear.

Sandusky is maintaining his innocence, and is now blaming this whole thing on a giant conspiracy between the accusers, the media, Penn State, psychologists and other accusers.

There seems to be little question that Sandusky will appeal.
