Trailer for ‘The Good Doctor’ Starring Orlando Bloom Hits (VIDEO)

What happens when a doctor becomes smitten with one of his patients? I'm not a doctor, so I wouldn't know. But Orlando Bloom plays one in the new drama thriller that he stars in, called The Good Doctor, and he shows us what a good doctor does when the inevitable happens.

Dr. Martin Blake (Bloom) is idealistic and eager, until he encounters a kidney infection patient who gives him the attention he so badly craves. All hell breaks loose as the good doctor's good intentions turn into a dangerous obsession.

Blake basically goes apeshit and slowly poisons his patient so that she would have no choice but to keep returning to the hospital. In time, the other doctors catch on and they run tests which reveal that Blake has been giving her cyanide.

Martin Blake (Bloom) is an ambitious but anxious young doctor, eager to impress his superiors and colleagues. But things are not going Martin's way and he can't seem to shake off his insecurities. When 18-year-old patient Diane (Keough) is admitted for a kidney infection, Martin steps in, getting the much-needed boost of self-esteem. But things take a dark turn as his enthusiasm begins to become an obsession.

The Good Doctor hits theaters on August 31st and stars Orlando Bloom, Riley Keough, Taraji P. Henson, Rob Morrow, Michael Peña, Troy Garity, and Molly Price.
