It's no secret that today's large scale games are never really 100% polished by the time they're released. We give them our hard earned cash and they give us error codes, freezing, and glitches galore but that's just the way it is.

Mass Effect 3 has not been spared from this curse. It has its fair share of glitches and bugs but one of the more prominent among gamers was the glitch that sometimes made players unable to import the face of their previous customized Shepard from Mass Effect 1 and 2 into the final chapter of the series.

Fortunately, a notice on the official Bioware forums claims the patch to fix the issue is coming, although exact details are scarce.

Ok, I have what I hope is some good news.

We have fixed the issue of faces not correctly importing into Mass Effect 3. It will be included as part of the next Mass Effect 3 patch.

The not completely good news is that I do not yet have a confirmed date for when the patch will be available. A new patch gets heavily tested by BioWare, EA, Microsoft and Sony before it can be released to the public. We all want to be sure that it fixes the issues it is supposed to fix and doesn't start any new issues (this is called testing or certification testing ). If a patch fails during testing, it is sent back, fixed again and retested until it passes. Then it is released to gamers. Until we know that the patch has passed certification testing, I don't want to give even a rough idea of the date, to prevent disappointment should it need further testing.

So I'm sorry I don't have the full answer you all want and are waiting for yet. When I can give you the date when the patch will be available I will. -Chris Priestly (Bioware Community Coordinator)

So, while there's no word on when we'll be seeing this patch, at least we can rest assured that it is, in fact, on the way and they are paying attention our issues.

On a side note, I'd like to just host my opinion here for a second about this whole 'Mass Effect Ending' that has everyone's panties in a twist. Starting an amazing story is difficult, keeping it exciting and fresh throughout is also hard, but ending a story is one of the most difficult things to accomplish. It is never possible to please everyone when it comes to writing a conclusion to a story as big as Mass Effect so let's just relax and move on with our lives. These writers try hard and put everything they have into these games so cut them some slack and try not to pick and pry at every little thing.
