Jeri Ryan, Engage(d)

Everybody's favourite busty Borg, Jeri Ryan (aka Seven of Nine - for all you Trekkies out there - and in here) has gotten herself engaged, reports Zap2it.com. The 38-year-old Star Trek star is set to marry French chef Christopher Eme.

Ryan crushed the romantic hopes of fanboys worldwide when she announced her engagement during the Television Critics Association press tour to promote her new TV series "Shark."




Eme, who's the head chef of the West Hollywood restaurant Ortolan, where he's partners with Ryan, set up an elaborate romantic scene for the proposal.




"He brought me home, covered my eyes and took me up to the bedroom," she recalls. "He had candles lit everywhere and champagne on ice. He had gotten this huge canvas and painted it with words that said in French 'And you come with me forever.'"

Wow, "And you come with me forever." Take note, nerds of the world, that's how you get a woman like Jeri Ryan into bed. Not by asking incessant questions like "were Seven of Nine's breasts just cybernetic implants?"

However, given Ryan's past marriages to Star Trek producer Brannon Braga, and Jack Ryan (no, not that Jack Ryan), who dropped out of 2004's senatorial race in Illinois when details of their divorce proceedings were made public (Jeri Ryan alleges that her ex coerced her to attend sex clubs in three different cities), it's unlikely that this marriage will last either.

Of course, if your Trek-obsessed minds simply cannot compute the posibility of no longer having a shot at getting with a fictional cyborg with enormous breasts, here are some fighting words for you: Jeri Ryan must not be assimilated. Set a course for Hollywood to stop the engagement. Engage!
