George Lucas Not Involved With Indiana Jones 5

When I was a kid there were two things I loved above anything else: Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Both of these things sprung largely from the mind of one man: George Lucas. If you look at the credits of the Indiana Jones films, he came up with the story and was very hands on as executive producer helping his friend Stephen Spielberg create the films. But we all know what happened to Lucas later in life. Just like the Nazi who picks the wrong grail, "He's chosen poorly" in a lot of ways. We all know what he did to the Star Wars prequels but he was also largely responsible for the abomination that was Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The whole alien thing was his idea. Spielberg later apologized for how crappy that movie was but Lucas remains, unsurprisingly, unapologetic. Well, it seems he finally did it and screwed himself out of involvement in another beloved franchise.

The screenwriter of Indiana Jones 5, David Koepp, says that George Lucas has had no part in the creation of the story or the writing of the script. It is unknown if he will be executive producer but it seems unlikely that he wouldn't already be on board if the film is already in preproduction. Lucas was famously frozen out of Star Wars by Disney when they made The Force Awakens. After the runaway success of that movie, Lucas acted like a little bitch about it. But the fact of the matter is that the once great filmmaker sucks now and cannot be trusted with his own creations anymore. Just like how eventually you have to take grandpa's car away so he doesn't hurt himself or others, it was time to take Indie and Star Wars away from George.
