What is it with Olympic Athletes and No Sex?

Athletes are a superstitious bunch. Play the game--any game-- long enough and you will either develop something or at least meet someone that does something kind of weird/crazy in order to ensure a good game is coming.

Why on earth would we do this? The answer is easy. No matter how much you train or how much you practice you can still lose. You can be the best person on the court/field/track/diamond/pitch and still lose--just because. At the same time, it can be the littlest thing (like the confidence that comes from a lucky charm) that makes the difference between coming in first or being the first loser.

And no one wants the Silver. You take it; but you don't want it.

That is why Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt recently broke up with his bombshell of a girlfriend. He wanted to concentrate on his training and not be distracted by the lovely Lubica Slovak (the name does not do her justice; she's a babe).

According to a source close to the speed demon, Usain will have plenty of time for chicks after the Olympics (good thing his events will be over pretty quick).

For Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones, abstaining from sex has not been just a competition thing, its been a life choice. Then again since her life has been about preparing for the next competition...

When you look at her you know she has been approached often. Apparently she has not been dumb enough to fall for the 'it will make you faster' line. The gorgeous 29-year old virgin has stated that holding onto her virtue has been tougher than training for the Olympics, but that it is something that she has wanted to give her husband.

Whenever that day comes she may not know what she's doing, but it is safe to say that stamina will not be an issue for her (so she'll be able to try and try again).
