Shinobi Is Coming To The Big Screen

Quick, what is the most awesome ninja game of all time? The answer is Shinobi for the Sega. I used to play the hell out of that game back in the day. As a result I was a ninja for three Halloweens in a row. Now the Shinobi franchise is coming to the big screen in a movie produced by Marc Platt. That's quite a heavy hitter for a ninja movie based on a video game. There's no word on what the plot is going to be, but really does their need to be? Platt says,

“We love the Shinobi games and believe that the world of ninjas has never been properly explored onscreen. We now have the opportunity to do just that. With Shinobi, we hope to make a film that honors the essence of the games and brings this fascinating world to life for moviegoing audiences.”

A noble aspiration, but can he avoid the curse of the video game movie? In that the invariably suck? We will have to wait and see.
