Sabrina Carpenter is on a roll this year, and she’s not slowing down with the release of her brand new music video “Tears” off her latest album Man’s Best Friend.
The track itself is a delicious blend of pop, disco-pop, and pure disco, dripping with Donna Summer influence and a wink at Baccara’s 1977 classic “Yes Sir, I Can Boogie.” But the video? It's straight out of Rocky Horror Picture Show camp, think velvet, corsets, theatrical lighting, and just the right dose of naughty fun.
Lyrically, Sabrina flips the script on pop’s usual thirst anthems. Instead of being turned on by flashy lines, she confesses she gets worked up by something way sexier: good manners. Yup, she’s literally singing about climaxing over a man’s polite behavior. Please and thank you never sounded so hot.
Sabrina’s confidence, her wink-wink delivery, and the disco-glam styling of “Tears” all add up to one thing: she’s not just playing in pop’s big leagues anymore, she’s rewriting the rulebook.
