Who’s Coming to ‘Mortal Kombat X’ Next?

Mortal Kombat X has had a pretty damn good run with DLC characters. After the last game brought us the iconic burnt-faced badass that is Freddy Krueger, X had to step its game up. It sure delivered.

Did you see Predator ‘Ugly Mothereffer' the Predator coming? I sure as hell didn't. I jumped straight on board when he was announced, natch, but that was a real curve ball. Horror legend Jason Voorhees was a welcome one too, but it wasn't just classic characters that were a hit. My favorite new addition was Erron Black, because sometimes you don't know how much you need a kinda Village People-esque cowboy in your life until you've got one.

With all of that in mind, where the hell can the game go next? No new character would surprise us at this point, short of a playable Barney the Dinosaur or something (now that would be a fatality I'd pay to see).

Which is why this business is so interesting. Ed Boon has Tweeted that a new Kombatant, as well as more DLC details, will be revealed at this week's Game Awards. That's all we know, until the awards air tomorrow. The silhouettes in the image above give us a hint, but who's your money on? Check back later this week to find out. As for me? C'mon, Barney.
