Thor: Ragnarok has the same problem most movies have: Not enough Jeff Goldblum. Seriously though, the delightfully eccentric actor brought his A-game to the Thor threequel, and his effete Grandmaster was undoubtedly one of the film's highlights. Now we get a little more of him Goldblum-ing out in this new deleted scene from the film.

Ultimately I'm sad they deleted this scene, but the flick was a tad bloated anyway, so I get why it had to go. But seriously, though, I can't think of a single comic book movie that wouldn't be better if it featured an appearance by Jeff Goldblum and some naughty tentacles. I kinda wish the dialogue between Thor and Banner had been more essential to the plot and then this scene could've been salvaged, but I guess it's ultimately just another super goofy scene in an already absurdly goofy movie.

I hope that Taika Waititi gets to do another MCU movie. He's got a twisted sensibility, a great sense of humor, and his style shone through while a lot of other directors have failed to do that. I mean, James Gunn will get sick of making Guardians of the Galaxy movies eventually, so just let him take over that franchise. Or do another Thor space adventure. Anything, really, just keep that guy around, Marvel. And Goldblum, keep him around too. I'd see the hell out of a Grandmaster movie. Thor: Ragnarok debuts on Blu-ray & DVD on March 6.
