Echo Lawrence - October 6, 2025
Taylor just dropped her latest music video (and album) and while it’s polished and dramatic, a growing chorus of fans and critics are whispering: Is this a turning point, and not for the better?
In the video, Taylor leans into her theatrical side: sweeping shots, carefully curated symbolism, evocative visuals. But the shine can’t hide the growing backlash.
Her once-diehard fans are now calling the album underwhelming, saying her signature emotional punch is missing. Some are pointing to “Actually Romantic” as one of the weak links, critics argue it’s petty, derivative, and lacking in lyrical depth.
The visuals are shiny, the production is high-budget, but the songwriting? Let’s just say people are finally calling out the recycled lyrics and high school-level drama. For someone once hailed as a lyrical genius, this new era feels more like a rebrand gone wrong than an artistic rebirth.
At this point, it’s starting to feel like Taylor’s running out of stories to tell, or maybe we’re just tired of hearing them. Either way, I sure hope this is the end… because honestly, we’re all a little sick of her.
Here is Taylor's shiny new music video, to distract you from how bad her music really is.
