HBO’s ‘True Detective’ Looks Like a Barrel of Laughs (Laughs That Have Been Murdered)

Move over Curb Your Enthusiasm, because HBO's got a new laugh riot on the way. As you'll see from this trailer, True Detective, starring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, chronicles the hilarious, madcap adventures of two deeply troubled Louisiana detectives as they spend 17 years searching for a serial killer. In case that description didn't drive home the funny, the show's tagline is "Man is the cruelest animal." Get it? Get it?

Unfortunately, True Detective doesn't begin until Sunday, January 12. Luckily, HBO isn't going to make you wait for the laughs. They've launched a new website humorously titled DarknessBecomesYou.com, where you can learn about the show and its zany characters. Interactive segments such as "The World Needs Bad Men" and "Darkness Touches You Back" will have you rolling with laughter as the site's overtones of fear and existential dread hammer home the absurdity of our crazy modern world.
